Today’s spotlight: Marleen – from welder to assembly coordinator.Marleen organizes business trips, plans the assignments of our fitters, supports department heads in production and assembly – and always keeps a clear overview. A true all-rounder with a technical background!
We asked Marleen a few questions:
How do you explain your job to your grandma?
I make sure that our fitters can go on their assignments well-organized. That means I book hotels, flights, and sometimes even ferries and rental cars. After the trip, I take care of making sure all expenses are correctly processed.
Last year, I also completed a training course – since then, I regularly inspect what's called lifting accessories. These are special tools we use in production and on construction sites, for example to lift and secure components.
In addition, I support the department heads in plant construction, assembly, and production with various organizational tasks.
What do you particularly enjoy about your coordination work?
I especially enjoy being able to structure my tasks independently and organize my day on my own. The work is very varied – no day is like the other, and it’s never boring. There are always new challenges that keep everyday life exciting.
What makes me personally proud: I came into coordination through a career change. I originally completed an apprenticeship at KEIL as a plant mechanic with a focus on welding in plant construction – so I’m all the more grateful for the trust that was placed in me and the opportunity to grow professionally.
What has been your best moment at KEIL so far?
I have particularly fond memories of the last summer party celebrating our 50th anniversary – it was simply fantastic to celebrate with all our colleagues.
Another unforgettable moment was when I successfully completed my apprenticeship. That step from trainee to skilled worker was a real milestone for me.
Thank you, Marleen – you are KEIL!
