The training focused on internal gear pumps, a proven design in the field of positive displacement pump technology.
The training was divided into two target group-specific modules:
Module 1 was aimed at employees from planning, project management, design, and procurement. Key topics included:
- Pump design based on conveyed media, viscosity, and operating conditions
- Selection criteria for the procurement of technical components
- Economic and technical aspects when comparing alternative solutions
Module 2 was tailored to the areas of service, assembly, and automation, with a focus on:
- Proper installation and commissioning
- Pump behavior under various operating conditions
- Typical malfunction patterns, maintenance guidelines, and system-specific characteristics
In addition, the following cross-cutting topics were thoroughly covered:
- Functionality and structure of internal gear pumps
- Comparison of centrifugal pumps vs. displacement pumps regarding flow behavior, pressure characteristics, and application limits
- Sealing concepts such as magnetic coupling, mechanical seal, and stuffing box, with their respective advantages and disadvantages in practical use
Special thanks go to Mr. Markus Ach from DESMI for the competent and hands-on delivery of the training and the valuable knowledge transfer.
