Filling of the storage tanks

Two methods are used to fill the storage tanks. In case of compressed air filling - primarily when unloading polyol - the fluid is pressed out of the tank truck by pressurisation with dry air. When filling isocyanates and other hazardous substances, the filling is done via a pump in a vapour recovery process without releasing exhaust air to the environment.

The handling of the filling hoses for polyol is at the lower part of the tank truck due to the low hose connection at the truck. For isocyanate the truck connection is usually at the upper part of the truck. For this purpose, we offer safe access to the connection area via an unloading platform and folding steps for the operating personnel. In addition, the filling and vapour recovery hoses can be extended and retracted from the building using a pull-out device.

Thanks to our special designed rain drainage system, the truck unloading place can be sealed liquid-tight during the unloading process. The rest of the time, the surface water is drained off. By monitoring the filling process with a ANA safety device, the calculated collection volume of the unloading place can be reduced.

Raw material transfer and supply of production

The pump stations for filling and emptying the tank system are equipped with a durable screw pump. The sealing systems are based on mechanical seals or a leak-free magnetic coupling. The pump stations are equipped with all the necessary valves, measuring- and protective devices for a safe operation and service.

The fluid is transferred to the consumption systems in a ring circuit line. This ensures that the raw material is available at the point of use with consistent quality (continuous withdrawal with regulated inlet pressure).

By using a heat exchanger in the ring line, the storage medium can be precisely tempered. The system uses heating or cooling energy from internal temperature control units or from on-site supply facilities.
